Another week of quarantine in the books means we are one week closer to the rebirth of sports.

This past week we saw major strides in the return of sports. The NBA announced tentative plans to continue their season in both Orlando and Las Vegas. Several MLB teams have begun informing staff to prepare for a July 1st start date.

However, we still are not there yet. Most of us are trapped in our homes struggling to find things to watch on television to hold us over.

Fear not!

Every week from here on out we will be publishing a Sunday Snapshot of the upcoming week in sports television. The premise is, if you could only watch one sport related program a day, what would it be?

Here we will break down the must-watch sport coverage/movie/show/event for every day. So without any further ado, here is this week’s Sunday Snapshot.

Sunday, May 10th, 2020: The Last Dance—ESPN (9 p.m.)

The Last Dance has been the most publicized sports program of quarantine. The 10-part documentary on Michael Jordan has been outstanding and has exceeded every expectation. The series continues tonight with episodes seven and eight.

Monday, May 11th, 2020: Raptors/76ers, 2001 Eastern Conference Semifinals - Game 7—NBA TV (9 p.m.)

Vince Carter versus Allen Iverson. What more needs to be said? Relive the exciting Game 7 as the two timeless stars battled for a chance to play in the NBA Finals.

Tuesday, May 12th, 2020: kt wiz/NC Dinos—ESPN2 (2 p.m.)

At this point, any type of actual sporting event takes precedent. I know nothing about either of these two teams other than the fact that the NC Dinos mascot is a giant dinosaur who was rumored to be named “Swole Daddy” (has since been debunked).

Wednesday, May 13th, 2020: A League of Their Own—MLB Network (8 p.m.)

One of the most famous and celebrated sports movies of all-time features both Tom Hanks and Madonna. It also gave us one of the most iconic quotes in sports movie history… “There’s no crying in baseball!!”

Thursday, May 14th, 2020: Greatest Games: NFL- 2004 Divisional: Packers at Eagles—FS1 (8 p.m.)

Every once and awhile you just need a good QB matchup to get you through the week. Pretend it’s football season and you’re watching Thursday Night Football… except the game has already been played and both Favre and McNabb are retired.

Friday, May 15th, 2020: Storytime with Shaq—NBA TV (4 p.m.)

Once again, another program I know nothing about. However, Shaq is always must-watch television so I expect nothing less out of this program.

Saturday, May 16th, 2020: Dortmund v. FC Schalke 04—Bundesliga.com/FS1 (9:30 a.m.)

LIVE SPORTS!!! The Bundesliga (the highest soccer league in Germany) is restarting their season this Saturday and they provided us with a fantastic early morning match-up between two of the top six teams in the table. We’ve made it! Sports are officially back!

What games did I miss? What sport programs will you be watching? Let us know in the comments!
