The inevitable has been officially announced - Booger McFarland will no longer be a part of the Monday Night Football crew for ESPN.

His partner in crime, Joe Tessitore, will also no longer be returning for the crew either, ending the pair's two year run as prime-time hosts for the NFL. Both Joe and Booger will stay on at ESPN and, according to reports, will play major roles within the network.

McFarland's time with the MNF team was up and down to say the least. What booger did not lack was a sense of excitement in his analysis of the game. Each week, however, he seemed to break the internet with either a wacky saying or down right terrible football analogy.

Many fans took to social media to complain about the former NFL star for his dry commentating style and lack of in-depth knowledge that he shared during the games every week. After years of listening to Jon Gruden, there is no reason why the Booger experiment should have worked.

So the question is, who's next? Here are my top 3:

3. Mike Golic

The former Defensive Lineman and host of Golic and Wingo is a popular voice among fans nationwide. Golic made his gold on the formerly nationally broadcasted radio morning show Mike and Mike where fans fell in love with his hot takes and relentless anti-BS rants. I think Mike would be a great addition and also has experience in the booth, having done college games for ESPN before. He certainly has the voice and does not lack the confidence.

2. Rex Ryan

Ryan definitely lives his life more on the edgy side of things, but I think if they pair him up with the right play-by-play man, he could provide an exquisite analysis. Known for his fiery coaching style, I think many people overlook his knowledge of the game where he has displayed it on shows like Get Up and First Take for ESPN. Ryan would be a risky pick, but they definitely didn't play it safe with Booger.

1. Louis Riddick

This is the safe and should be the easy pick for ESPN. Riddick has been sought after by teams for upper management positions for the last three years and shows he has the common sense to do the job in the MNF booth every time he gets on national television. Louis' slick look and prepared demeanor will give ESPN a nice reset from the last 2 years of Booger. Riddick will also be easier to pair with any partner in the booth as he does not carry around a big ego, making him a great fit for anyone.
